The capability to follow a customer through all phases of the buying process has long been considered the holy grail of enterprise marketing. Has technology finally evolved to deliver on that process? It’s old news that technology is the beating heart of today’s marketing. In fact, deep within the desktops, laptops and mobile devices of any enterprise marketing department you’ll find a complex technology stack of solutions. As Scott Brinker’s graphic on ChiefMartec shows, there’s an exploding landscape of thousands of companies vying for the CMO’s attention, in dozens of Martech categories from mobile and display to email, analytics, audience data and testing.
In a trial conducted for the sales and marketing consultancy Corporate Visions, researchers monitored two subtly different types of pitches from a bank. The pitch to one group of potential customers began like this: “You need to know that 40 percent of companies that take a bank loan still fail.” The pitch to the other group began by focusing on the benefits of the credit line.
If you’re a small business owner, there’s a 50/50 chance you don’t have a company website. Surprised by that? SCORE’s recent infographic reports that just 51 percent of small businesses have websites. That was almost as surprising as the survey of small business owners for our 2015 State of Small Business Report. Out of 1,000 plus small business owners, 37 percent of respondents said they get only one to five percent of their business from their websites. Small businesses aren’t going to get the bulk of business from their websites. But if a third of them are getting five percent or less from their websites, something is wrong. With over 97 percent of consumers searching online for products and services, millennials are more likely to check an app to purchase goods or services.
Your website is the central focal point of your online marketing. Cure these website design mistakes that prevent visitors from connecting with your brand. Your website is the virtual front door to your business and an integral part of your inbound marketing strategy. In many cases, it is the first experience people have with your brand. But when someone comes to your website, what type of first impression does it project? Is your site welcoming and professional? Can visitors quickly find what they are looking for? Or does your website turn away prospective customers because it is confusing and doesn’t make your visitor feel as if you understand their needs?
Doug Baldasare faced the dilemma of every new entrepreneur: How do you get in front of buyers when you don’t have sales to show? His company makes a phone-charging station for retailers, so customers can fuel up while shopping (and therefore stick around longer). Baldasare asked a professor from his days at Wharton for an introduction to a manager the guy knew at a local Whole Foods. Then Baldasare showed up with an action plan: After his presentation, he said, “Why don’t we just leave it here and try it out?” He rolled his charging unit into the café area, left it and drove away before the staff had second thoughts. Six hours later, 50 people had charged their phones. An order followed.

Outsource Your Way To Freedom
If you’re anything like me running a small business, there are more things in the day to do than you can possibly get done. I always find that client tasks get done before my tasks and even though some of the things I need to get done working on my business are important, I just don’t get around them by the end of the day.
I took the step last month to hire a VA from the Philippines just to help me out with some of those tasks that are important but just languish at the bottom of my to do pile and I have to say my experience after a month has been absolutely fantastic.
How To Get 2,882 Twitter Followers In 30 Days
I employed an assistant, Lorena who is fabulous, doing some of those tasks that just wouldn’t get done otherwise, including things that are important but haven’t been done like my Twitter account that’s just been sitting there, stagnant doing nothing. She’s increased it from a few hundred followers to 2,882 followers in less than a month.
She’s been doing the research, looking for articles and interesting things to Tweet to followers, and I have to say that even I’m interested in some of the things that she’s been Tweeting about. It’s been fantastic having her build that and having people starting to interact with me on Twitter now.
FaceBook Business Page Has Come Alive
Lorena has also been working with my Facebook page which had been doing nothing. In fact it was an embarrassment. So now we have a new banner and have doubled our likes – It wasn’t hard because there weren’t many Likes or Followers and again she’s been looking for content and posting on a fairly regular basis.
Add Business Cards Collected To A Database
I don’t know whether you’ve been guilty of this as well but I’ve been to events, collected business cards, promised to send people information or follow them up, and the business cards just get thrown on a corner of my desk and nothing happens with them.
These have now all been imported into my database so I can communicate with them on a regular basis with my newsletter; this video being part of my new newsletter.
Creating Online Businesses In Profitable Niches
I have a number of niche website. Lorena has done the keyword research for articles and content and has been collating the information to enable me to start writing relevant articles to drive traffic to these sites.
A Virtual Assistant Helps With Client Work
Uploading videos to YouTube and Viddler, formatting content on webpages on both my own sites and client sites has been a godsend. She’s been able to just upload the content and make sure it all looks great means I have been able to focus on things like website coding, design and researching some more technical aspects required for clients.
Having a VA or virtual assistant has really helped me to prioritise and focus on the right things clients, and has helped me to work on the business rather than working in the business so much.
Where To Find Virtual Staff
Staff.com were the agency I hired Lorena from. They have been fantastic. Their customer service has been excellent and they pay attention to the little things like acknowledging their appreciation of my business by sending a gift box of teas. I have to say the service and follow up from them has been outstanding.
If you’re looking for a virtual assistant, definitely check them out. They’re one of the better ones that I’ve come across recently and again if you’re looking for someone to take off your hands, some of those tasks that need to be done, that you just don’t get around doing, I can’t recommend highly enough getting a virtual assistant.
